Adopt a Sled Dog
At No Limits Sled Dog Kennel, our dogs are part of our
family. Compared to many Iditarod mushers, our breeding
program is small. We generally have one to two litters
a year and do not breed our dogs to sell them or make
money from them. We give every dog a chance to make
the team and thrive to their full potential which means
they are with us and participating in our training program
for at least one to two years.
With that said, we do occasionally have a yearling or
older dog that we feel would be better suited living
in a loving home. We do not charge for our dogs. However,
there is a cost associated with adopting one. Costs
include the spay or neutering if needed, and if the
dog is flying outside of Alaska to the lower 48, a vet
check, a sky kennel for flying them, and shipping charges.
Charges for flying a dog to the lower 48 are generally
around $200.00 to $400.00 depending on where the dog
is traveling too. In state adoptions obviously do not
cost as much.
All of our dogs are healthy, happy, and have a strong
desire to please their owners and to be loved. They
are true athletes and tend to live longer then more
sedimentary dogs. They are mix breed dogs and do not
have any of the genetic problems which can sometimes
be associated with the heavy in-breeding of pure breed
dogs. The younger dogs require active owners while older
dogs are no different then any well trained pet. They
are extremely intelligent. We have found that they adjust
to their new home very quickly.

We can answer any questions that you may have, put you
in touch with others who have adopted our dogs, and
determine whether your living situation would be a good
fit for one of our dogs.
Note: Often times dogs come up for adoption more frequently then the web site is updated so the list below is not necessarily up to date. It is best to email us to check on the status of the dogs that are available for adoption.
