On June 10, 2008, Bruce was the featured speaker for CAMP
DIABETES in Cooper Landing, Alaska. Camp Diabetes
was sponsored by the Alaska Chapter of the American Diabetes
Association. Bruce spent the evening with more then 50
children sharing his message “don’t
be limited by your disease” and he talked
about his adventures that he experienced during his two
successful completions of the 1,000 mile Iditarod sled
dog race. The children, all Type 1 diabetes like Bruce,
appreciated the presentation, were inspired by his message,
and enjoyed visiting with some of the puppies.
Public Speaking Engagements.....
Bruce offers public speaking engagements for adults and
children of all ages. Bruce’s message is one of living
and realizing your dreams despite the obstacles that might
get in your way. He believes that there are No Limits as
long as you have the ability to believe in yourself and
believe in your dreams. Bruce, diagnosed with Type I Diabetes
15 years ago, lives his life by example. He is someone who
has taken hold of an obstacle and persevered to make his
dreams come true. He has completed 12 marathons, three Iron
Man Triathlons, two 1,000 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Races and
hundreds of other athletic events all while injecting insulin.
Bruce knows what it takes to make dreams come true. His
message is a motivation to all!
Presentations include a personal slide show about the Iditarod
Sled Dog Race, care and training of his husky team, and
an inspirational message that everyone can relate to.
